Is It the End of the Line for Sage Payment Solutions?

Jun 30, 2017 7:00:00 AM

You may not have heard that Sage sold Sage Payment Solutions on June 2. The buyer, GTCR LLC, is a Chicago-based firm specializing in driving growth through acquisitions. While GTCR is likely to change Sage Payment Solutions once they control it, we’re not sure what those changes will look like.

What We Know About the Sage Payment Solutions Sale

What we definitely know is that the sale was valued at $260 million, and that Sage will partner with GTCR going forward, but only for revenue sharing between joint customers of Sage and GTCR.

We also know that Stephen Kelly, CEO of Sage, moved forward on the sale because, “…the strategic fit is not as strong as the rest of the business…” and that Sage plans on, “…continuing to build on [our] growing network of partnerships within the payments and banking sector.” (Official Sage press release.)

This sale suggests big changes on the horizon for the way you process payments in your Sage ERP, and it may affect your processing fees as well.

How to Maintain Control of Your Payments

Since Sage Payment Solutions is changing hands so suddenly, you may be worried about how the sale will affect your business. It’s unlikely that Sage or GTCR has the legal freedom to answer detailed questions right now, so our suggestion is that you create your own secure future.

It won’t surprise you to learn that we have a great gateway and processor to recommend (wink), but hear us out and you’ll see why it’s a good choice.

Why APS Is the Smarter Choice for Your Payments

As a leading provider of integrated payment services for Sage 100 and Sage 300, as well as many other non-Sage related ERP’s, American Payment Solutions (APS) is perfectly positioned to seamlessly take over your payment processing hassle free. In fact, we offer five main benefits compared to Sage Payment Solutions:

  1. Free Setup and Activation

Not only is our payment processing free and easy to set up, it’s also formatted for Sage 100 and Sage 300, so APS doesn’t have those extra gateway or transaction fees you end up with when you choose someone else.

  2. Level 3 Processing

Level 3 Processing applies to eligible corporate credit cards, offering you tremendous potential cost savings for your B2B or B2G company. Level 3 Processing can help APS clients save upwards of 70% as compared to their previous processing costs.

  3. Next Day Funding

Most payment processors offer you two-day funding on credit cards. Some offer 24-hour funding. APS offers 11-hour funding: if you process payments by 9:00 PM Eastern, the funds will be in your account by 8:00 AM the next morning.

  4. AMEX OptBlue

AMEX OptBlue not only offers lower rates; it can also be funded directly, along with VISA and MasterCard, eliminating the accounting nightmare.

  5. Free PCI Compliance Help

PCI Compliance rules protect cardholders’ data security… but with many tricky requirements, it can create a minefield for merchants. APS provides no-cost services to help you become PCI compliant and also offers the stress-free APS Vault, which securely stores credit card data for you.

There’s Never Been a Better Time to Switch

Take advantage of our limited-time offer for Sage Payment Solutions customers and send over your statements for your free merchant analysis.

Once you send those statements in, Sage expert Patty Benitez will check them over to find out how much you can save with American Payment Solutions. If we can’t match or beat your current rate, we’ll give you $500. That’s something you know you can count on.
